Top 5 Questions to Ask Before Hiring an SEO Company
Here are my top five questions that you should ask when considering a new SEO company.
1. How will you improve my rankings?
If you're hiring an SEO company, you want to see results. You want to rank higher on Google so that you get more traffic, more leads, and more sales.
Steer clear of anyone who's too secretive about their SEO process or claims it's too complicated to explain.
2. Do you guarantee rankings?
If anyone says yes to this, run away, run away fast!
No one can guarantee #1 rankings on Google. There's no secret formula, and no one has a special insider relationship with Google.
A reputable SEO company will talk about the results that you can expect to see. Things like more organic traffic, higher visibility, and higher average keyword positions. They should tell you how they're going to measure and report on your progress.
3. What changes will you make to my website?
On-page optimization is a big, big part of SEO. A good SEO company is going to talk to you about what changes they need to make to optimize your website.
They should talk about things like optimizing title tags and meta information. They're probably going to want to change the copy and some of the headlines that you're using. They're going to want to look at site structure and navigation, and certainly, they're going to fix any kind of technical issues or broken links on your site.
4. Can I see certifications, case studies, or testimonials?
You want a company that you can trust. They should be able to provide proof to back up all their claims.
SEO experts need to constantly be learning and keeping their skills up. You can ask for certifications like are they a Google Partner? Do they have Google Analytics certifications?
Also, you can ask to see case studies, testimonials, or get references from other clients so that you can hear firsthand what results they're getting for these other businesses that are just like yours.
5. What do your SEO services cost?
Of course, price is always an important factor in your decision. SEO costs
can vary really widely depending on the scope of work. They can be anywhere from $250 a month to $5,000 plus per month.
If you've got an SEO company that's promising everything for a price that seems too good to be true, it probably is.
The best SEO company probably isn't the cheapest but should help you find services that you need that fit your goals and your budget.
